The coupe has already been spied undisguised during a photoshoot, but the latest pictures give us an up close look at the new convertible. Everything in front of the A-pillar mimics the 4-Series Coupe but further back there's a lower beltline, a flatter trunk and a three-piece folding hardtop. Speaking of the latter, the hardtop clearly echoes the one used on the 3-Series Convertible but designers appear to have succeeded in making it look more cohesive.

Engine options remain unconfirmed, but the models are expected to be launched with a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder that develops 245 HP (180 kW) and a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline-six that produces 306 HP (225 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. Both will be offered with a six-speed manual and an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Previous reports have indicated the 4-Series Coupe and Convertible will go into production later this year, so an official announcement should be just around the corner.
