The 2015 Ford Mustang is inching closer to production and new details are starting to emerge about the highly anticipated model.

According to Road & Track, the entry-level model will continue to use a V6 engine.  Sitting one slot above will be a 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost that develops approximately 350 bhp (261 kW).  Those looking for more performance will want to order the new GT which is expected to have a 5.0-liter V8 that produces roughly 450 bhp (335 kW).

Speculation also suggests the range-topping Shelby GT500 could be replaced by an SVT Cobra.  Nothing is official, but the model could drop the supercharged 5.8-liter V8 - that develops 662 bhp (494 kW) and 631 lb-ft (854 Nm) of torque - in favor of a naturally-aspirated engine.
