BMW introduces an updated ConnectedDrive system

BMW has introduced an updated ConnectedDrive system that promises to "take automotive infotainment into a whole new dimension."

First and foremost, most new BMWs will come with a SIM card slot that will enable owners to select their own service provider. The company will also offer ConnectedDrive services in 14 additional markets which will bring the total number of markets up to 25.

As for the system itself, it will benefit from an improved interface, better speech recognition technology and several new features like Intelligent Emergency Call. The latter system will alert emergency services to the location of your vehicle and the severity of an accident.

There's will also be a new BMW ConnectedDrive Store that will offers apps like Deezer, Napster, Rhapsody, TuneIn Radio, Audible and Glympse. BMW will also offer a new Online Entertainment steaming music service that will allow users to access 12 million songs and over 250 professionally created channels.
