Red Bull chief technical officer Adrian Newey crashed a Lamborghini Super Trofeo during the warm-up lap last weekend at the Silverstone race.

He lost control of the vehicle during the formation lap prior to the weekend's second race at Silverstone part of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe championship. The car swiped the barrier and Newey had to retire as the damages were severe enough to take him out of the race.

This isn't Newey's first crash as back in 2006 he wrecked a Ford GT40 at Le Mans during the Le Mans Classic event when he lost control of the vehicle on the second chicane. He wasn't hurt but the car was heavily damaged. In addition, he also crashed a Jaguar E-Type at a Goodwood Revival Meeting.

Lastly, at Snetterton during the British touring car round in 2010 he had an accident while racing a Ginetta G50. He escaped with minor injuries but had to be hospitalized.
