BMW recently unveiled the Gran Lusso Coupe concept at the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and a new report is indicating that it could preview an 8-Series Coupe.

Despite officially being called a one-off, Automotive News is reporting that several sources have confirmed a production model is under consideration. As one source explained, "We want to send out the message the future is not all about electric cars but also traditional models with real emotional appeal." The insider went on to say the model hasn't been green-lighted but the Gran Lusso Coupe hints at what a production model could look like.

As a refresher, the Gran Lusso Coupe was based on the 7-Series and featured a V12 engine. Detailed specifications were not released, but the engine was likely a 6.0-liter unit that produced 544 HP (400 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque.
