The second generation of the Dacia Sandero has received a four-star rating from Euro NCAP.

It received an 80 percent rating for adult occupants and 79 percent for child occupants, while pedestrian protection was rated at 57 percent. Due to the absence of a rear seatbelt reminder and electronic speed limiter, the Romanian hatchback was given only a 55 percent rating for safety assistance.

Even though it scored a star more compared to its predecessor, it still falls behind the most recent Clio which grabbed all five stars, providing an 88 percent adult protection and a 99 percent for its safety assistance systems. The Renault Captur, which is essentially a crossover variant of the Clio, also went home with five stars.
