Peugeot has released a new video of their 208 T16 Pikes Peak race car undergoing high attitude testing on Mont Ventoux.

Renowned for being part of the Tour de France, Mont Ventoux represents the perfect spot to test the car because it offers steep terrain and high attitudes that attracted racers as far back as 1902.

According to driver Sébastien Loeb, “This is an important run because Pikes Peak is very different from a nice, smooth race track. It is vital for us to evaluate the car on a terrain that is more like what we will find in the States. This road will give us a reasonably accurate idea...”

As we have previously reported, the 208 T16 Pikes Peak is powered by a twin-turbo 3.2-liter V6 engine that develops 875 bhp (652 kW). It is connected to a six-speed sequential transmission and an all-wheel drive system that enables the 875 kg (1,929 lb) race car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 1.8 seconds.
