General Motors has released a new video showing the front central airbag available for the 2013 Traverse.

Also available for the 2013 GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave, the world's first front center airbag was announced by GM back in 2011. As the clip shows, it's deployed from the driver's side and positions itself above the center console as a safety precaution to keep occupants restrained while at the same time creating a protective cushion between the front passenger and the driver.

As a reminder, the 2013 Traverse comes with a V6 3.6-liter engine developing 288 bhp (215 kW) and 366 Nm (270 lb-ft) of torque. It works together with a 6-speed auto and an optional AWD system.
