Volkswagen has released the first teaser images of one of their GTI concepts that will be unveiled at Wörthersee 2013.

Details are limited, but Volkswagen says this particular model was created by 13 trainees who have spent the last year building the car. Over the course of just twelve months they made extensive modifications to the engine, exterior and interior.

The car won't be unveiled until next week but Volkswagen hinted it will feature a "glossy" exterior and a number of "good ideas" that were presented to the company's board on numerous occasions.

According to Volkswagen's research and development chief, Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, "All students of the Wörthersee team can be proud" as they have developed a unique automobile that will make a "driver's heart beat faster."
