Mercedes has released a new promotional video of the SLS AMG Black Series putting in a few laps at the Paul Ricard Circuit.

Looking relatively composed, the supercar tackles the legendary track before taking a leisurely stroll on the scenic roads that surround the venue.

As we have previously reported, the SLS AMG Black Series has a GT3-inspired body kit that includes modified bumpers, revised side skirts and flared fenders. There's also a rear diffuser, a carbon fiber wing and 19- / 20-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

Motivation is provided by a 6.2-liter V8 engine that has a "fully revised high-speed valve train with modified camshafts, adapted cam geometry and optimized bucket tappets featuring a special coating that is typically used on race vehicles." Thanks to these modifications the engine develops 622 bhp (464 kW) and 468 lb-ft (634 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT dual-clutch transmission which enables the 3,417 lb (1,550 kg) coupe to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 196 mph (315 km/h).
