Bugatti has introduced the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Car Edition at 2013 Auto Shanghai.

Only eight units will be built and each will have a starting price (before taxes) of 1.99M EUR (2.60M USD / 1.69M GBP). Power comes from the familiar yet still impressive W16 7.9-liter quad-turbo engine producing 1,200 HP (882 kW) and 1,106 lb-ft (1,500 Nm) of torque.

Linked to a dual-clutch seven-speed gearbox, the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse WRC needs 2.6 seconds until 62 mph (100 km/h), en route to a tested top speed of 254.04 mph (408.84 km/h), thus making it the fastest convertible in the world.
