Volkswagen is showing at 2013 Auto Shanghai the iBeetle which will be available in early 2014.

It's being described as the "first car in the world to have a genuine interactive interface for the iPhone that was coordinated with Apple." It will be available as a coupe or convertible with a dashboard-mounted dock and a special app with functions like Spotify, Expert, Trainer, Reader, Postcard and Milestones (which are all explained in the press release).

In addition, the iBeetle is distinguished by 18-inch Disc alloys painted in Galvano Grey with chrome wheel covers, side trim panels and door mirror housings in the same hue, bespoke black door sill plates, "iBeetle" chrome badges on the front fender and chrome pack bringing chrome trim strips on the sides.

A Galvano Grey finish will also be applied for the dash pad and steering wheel, along with light Ceramique stitching for the sport seats which are wrapped around in black Vienna leather. Volkswagen says the shift lever grip has also been tweaked for this special edition Beetle / Beetle Convertible.

More details are available in the press release section.
