Mercedes-Benz has released a full high-res gallery and more details about the GLA Concept which will be showcased at Auto Shanghai starting Saturday.

Previewing the production model set to arrive in Frankfurt this September as a BMW X1 and Audi Q3 competitor, the GLA Concept is powered by a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 211 HP (155 kW). Power is transferred to the 4MATIC all-wheel drive system through a 7G-DCT dual-clutch automatic transmission. The Set to battle BMW's X1 and Audi's Q3

The headlamps feature laser technology offering more light on the road and they also work as projectors. The concept's hood has received powerdomes and a sporty radiator grille featuring the M-B logo in the center. A protective grille was fitted to the door mirrors which have twin supporting struts. Other design features include frameless side windows and slim door handles which are fully recessed.

The GLA Concept rides on 20-inch five-spoke turbine design wheels covered by 255/45 R20 tires. We also notice the inclusion of a large roof spoiler, load sill guard, concealing underride fascia panel and a twin pipe exhaust setup. The tailgate has a power closing system which enables opening/closing by the touch of a button.

On the inside there's a mixture of leather and dark-galvanized aluminum, with four individual seats and door center panels wrapped around in brown natural leather. For the backs of the front seats Mercedes-Benz used grey leather with a graphically applied grain, while the instrument panel has a multi-layer layout.

Other features inside the cabin worth mentioning include Plexiglas control buttons for COMAND Online, fiber-optic ambient lightning in the load compartment and an easy-to-use handle to fold the backrests of the rear seats forward to create a level cargo floor.

More details are available in the press release section.
