The Hyundai Mingtu has been revealed in what appears to be a billboard most likely located near Hyundai's booth at 2013 Auto Shanghai.

It's a new model which will be slotted above Elantra and below Sonata. Up until now it was known as the Sonata Lite but is expected to go on sale with the Mingtu moniker. Featuring a sleek appearance, the Hyundai Mingtu borrows the front bumper and grille from Sonata, while the headlights have a fresh new design. We also notice a sloping roofline to create a four-door coupe-like silhouette.

Engine lineup will most likely include 1.8- and 2.0-liter gasoline engines connected to a 6-speed manual or automatic.

The base Mingtu is rumored to start from 140,000 Yuan (about 22,700 USD / 17,200 EUR / 14,800 GBP) and go all the way up to 180,000 Yuan (29,000 USD / 22,100 EUR / 19,000 GBP).

More details will be available towards the end of the week.
