The first production 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible was sold at a Barrett-Jackson auction for 1M USD.

Last night Barrett-Jackson auctioned in Palm Beach the first production Corvette C7 Convertible which went home to Rick Hendrick who was willing to pay 1M USD. If Rick Hendrick rings a bell, he is the owner of the NASCAR team Hendrick Motorsports.

To refresh your memory, the coupe was auctioned also by Barrett-Jackson back in January when it fetched 1.1M USD from the same Rick Hendrick. That money went to the College for Creative Studies automotive design program, while the funds earned from selling the cabrio will be going to the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute.
