There is a high possibility Cadillac will launch a coupe version of the recently introduced 2014 CTS.

Cadillac's global marketing director Jim Vurpillat said the current CTS Coupe "was hugely successful" as it was "the no. 1 selling luxury coupe in the industry" which can only mean a new version is seriously under consideration, along with a possible wagon variant.

The old CTS tried to grab customers away from BMW and Mercedes-Benz but it didn't succeed as for the model year 2012 they sold 47,000 units, less than the 5-Series (almost 57,000) and E-Class (66,000). However, Cadillac hopes things will change now that the new CTS has arrived which has grown in size and promises to be a worthy adversary for the Germans.

A CTS Coupe will have to tackle cars such as the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe and the BMW 6-Series Coupe which means it has a difficult task ahead.

Vurpillat gave an interview to Edmunds during the 2013 New York Auto Show which can be read at the source link below.
