The 2014 Chevrolet Impala has go into production at GM's Oshawa Assembly plant in Canada.
Set to go on sale later this month, the redesigned model has sportier styling which should ensure it isn't regulated to fleet use. Notable highlights include a prominent grille, muscular rear fenders and 18- to 20-inch alloy wheels. The car also has a contoured hood, a sloping roofline and optional LED daytime running lamps.
Inside, the cabin is significantly improved with higher quality materials and a dual-cockpit design. It comes nicely equipped with soft-touch plastics, metallic trim and a six-speaker audio system. Options include leather upholstery, ambient lighting and a Chevrolet MyLink infotainment system with an eight-inch display.
Under the hood, three different engines will be available including:
- A 2.4-liter four-cylinder eAssist with 180 bhp (134 kW) and 233 Nm (172 lb-ft) of torque
- A 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 195 bhp (145 kW) and 253 Nm (187 lb-ft) of torque
- A 3.6-liter V6 with 305 bhp (227 kW) and 358 Nm (264 lb-ft) of torque
The 2014 Chevrolet Impala will be priced from $27,535 which includes $810 destination charge.
