Hyundai and Hermes have teamed up for a more posh version of a 2012MY long-wheelbase Equus.

Hyundai is present at the New York Auto Show with the facelifted 2014MY Equus but at the same time in Seoul they are showcasing a 2012MY Equus based on the long wheelbase variant. It was co-developed with Hermes featuring several exterior enhancements and a more luxurious interior cabin.

The concept is the result of a two-year collaboration for developing a "modern premium" car. Inside it has more than 20 items which were specially developed for this concept and boasts several types of leathers selected by Hermes, including the crocodile leather-wrapped door panels. The rear center console draws its inspiration from aircraft interiors and packs four cup holders and a folding table. There's also a large storage space and a water bottle compartment.

Hyundai built three units of this Equus by Hermes but none of them are for sale. There aren't any plans to put this model into production and will remain only as an attempt to improve the company's image.
