This recall affects Passat, Golf, Touran, Scirocco, Bora, Sagitar and other models made by the firm's China ventures, along with a few imported models like an unknown number of Audi A3s which were made between February 2010 and June 2011, as well as some Skoda Octavias produced starting with 2008. This information was posted on the website of General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of China. It was immediately confirmed by Volkswagen in an e-mail statement and it is believed it will cost them more than 600M USD based on the research conducted by LMC Automotive.
One of the most popular TV shows in China mentioned the DSG transmission is a problem among Volkswagen models for a long period of time which causes the car to slow down or speed up unintentionally.
