BMW has announced plans to introduce the 328d at the New York Auto Show.
Designed to appeal to diesel aficionados, the model is equipped with a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine that develops 180 hp (134 kW) and 280 lb-ft (379 Nm) of torque. It will enable the sedan to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 7.2 seconds, while returning up to 40+ mpg highway.
The company will also stage the North American debut of the 3-Series Gran Turismo. It can be equipped with a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine that develops 240 hp (178 kW) and 255 lb-ft (345 Nm) of torque or a 3.0-liter inline-six cylinder engine which cranks out 300 hp (224 kW) and 300 lb-ft (406 Nm) of torque. The 3-Series GT will go on sale in the United States this summer and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
