Kia's European Vice President of Marketing and Product Planning has revealed the company is considering a production version of the provo concept.

Speaking to Auto Express, Benny Oeyen said “The provo is a possible niche we can venture into. Our brand is currently rational, but there’s space for a B-Coupe." As part of the process, Kia will conduct market research to determine if there are enough buyers to put the provo into production.

In related news, Oeyen revealed “The GT [concept] is close to being approved and going into production but, as with all our cars, they have to be developed on a sound financial footing.” Previous reports have indicated the production model could be launched in 2016 and ride on the same rear-wheel drive platform that underpins the K9.
