Land Rover has released a teaser photo with the 2014 Range Rover Sport ahead of its New York Auto Show arrival programmed for March 26.

Promising to be the company's "fastest, most responsive and most agile vehicle to date", the new Range Rover Sport is expected to lose about 300 kg (661 lbs) compared to the outgoing variant, meaning the base V6 diesel-powered version should tip the scales at approximately 2,160 kg (4,761 lbs).

The car will borrow the engine lineup of the 2013 Range Rover, starting with a 3.0-liter LR-TDV6 diesel with 255 hp (190 kW) and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque. It will also be sold with a beefier 4.4-liter LR-SDV8 rated at 335 hp (250 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft). Gasoline engines will include a 5.0-liter LR-V8 producing 375 hp (280 kW) and 510 Nm (376 lb-ft), along with a supercharged LR-V8 outputting 504 hp (376 kW) and 625 Nm (461 lb-ft).

In terms of styling, an Evoque-inspired front fascia with slender headlights and a two-bar grille is very probable, along with a sloping roofline, tailgate-mounted spoiler and revised taillights.
