The 2014 Volkswagen Golf VII Estate (aka Variant and Wagon) has been spied virtually undisguised.
Looking instantly recognizable, the station wagon has a familiar appearance which clearly echoes the hatchback. While it's hard to see in the photos, the model is expected to have a larger boot which should provide an additional 120 liters (4.2 cubic feet) of luggage space compared to its predecessor.
Engine options will likely include the usual suspects so expect choices to include:
- A 1.2-liter TSI with outputs of 85 HP (63 kW) and 105 HP (77 kW)
- A 1.4-liter TSI with outputs of 122 HP (90 kW) and 140 HP (103 kW)
- A 1.6-liter TDI with 105 PS (77 kW) and 250 Nm (185 lb-ft) of torque
- A 2.0-liter TDI with 150 PS (110 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque
The Golf Estate is slated to go on sale early this year, so look for a possible debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
