Chrysler has announced this week the Alfa Romeo 4C will be available only at select Fiat dealers in the United States.

A Chrysler Group executive said only Fiat dealers who met sales and customer service objectives will be able to sell the 4C which should be available before the end of the year for Alfa's long-awaited (and several times delayed) return in the United States.

With a total annual production of 2,500 cars, the United States will get 1,000 units of the lightweight 4C. The vehicle will be made at Maserati's factory in Modena, with production expected to commence this summer.

If this sounds familiar, Chevrolet said the same thing about the Corvette Stingray which at first will only be available at their top dealers.
