Peugeot has published full details and photo/video gallery with the 2008 crossover ahead of its Geneva debut next month.

The stylish French crossover is ready to tackle the Nissan Juke when it hits European dealerships this summer. Based on the 208, the 2008 is 20cm longer and 5cm wider than the supermini, measuring 4.16m long and 1.74m wide. Thanks to the larger size it has a 360-liter boot capacity which can be increased to 1194 liters if the rear seats are folded.

The 2013 Peugeot 2008 comes standard with a seven-inch touchscreen, head-up display, electronic brake force distribution, six airbags, traction control and electronic brake assist. On the outside it borrows some design cues seen on the 208, but with a higher ride height and plastic mouldings around the side sills and bumpers.

Under the hood there will be a 3-cylinder 1.2-liter VTi engine with 81 hp (60 kW) and a 1.6-liter VTi with 118 hp (88 kW). These gasoline engines will be joined in the future by a 3-cylinder turbocharged mill which will be offered with 109 hp (81 kW) and 128 hp (95 kW).  Diesels available right away include a 1.4-liter producing 67 hp (50 kW) and a 1.6-liter with either 91 hp (68 kW) or 113 hp (84 kW).
