Mercedes-Benz will be launching 13 all-new models within the next seven years.

Daimler's CEO Dieter Zetsche declared during the latest Daimler Group Annual Press Conference held in Stuttgart the company's portfolio will grow by 13 all-new models by 2020. The GLA will be revealed this April in concept form at the Shanghai Auto Show, while at Frankfurt in September will be showcased in production guise.

Zetsche also confirmed a brand new SUV which will be manufactured in the United States at the firm's Tuscaloosa factory in Alabama. He described it as being "an especially dynamic all-terrain vehicle," promising to disclose more details in the near future.

The new generation of the S-Class has been confirmed for a mid-2013 launch and is characterized as "the epitome of the luxury sedan". He also added the S-Class will get five versions in the upcoming years, thus confirming a previous report indicating three different wheelbase lengths, a coupe and a convertible.

Archrival BMW could be preparing ten all-new models by late 2014.
