Nissan has announced the 2014 GT-R Track Edition during the Chicago Auto Show.
Set to go on sale at select Nissan dealers worldwide this May, this special edition of the GT-R will be limited to 150 units in the United States. Power comes from the same twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6 VR38DETT engine producing 545 hp (406 kW) and 463 lb-ft (627 Nm) of torque connected to a six-speed, dual clutch, paddle-shifted sequential gearbox changing gears in only 0.15 seconds.
What sets this variant apart from the regular 2014 GT-R are the special brake cooling guides, stiffer suspension setup, front spoiler with carbon fiber air ducts, higher grip front seats and also the removal of rear seats which have been replaced by lightweight quilted cloth mat.
The Nissan GT-R Track Edition also comes with a carbon fiber rear spoiler and rides on six-spoke forged wheels shod in Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT 600 DSST CTT high-performance run-flat tires filled with nitrogen. Customers will have five exterior colors to choose from: Pearl White, Solid Red, Jet Black, Gun Metallic and Deep Blue Pearl.
