Kia has introduced the Forte five-door at the Chicago Auto Show.
Designed to appeal to style conscious buyers, the model has a "European appearance that speaks to its performance intentions." If the standard model isn't sporty enough, Kia offers an SX variant which is distinguished by a unique front fascia, a dual exhaust system and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The interior is a little dull but comes nicely equipped with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth connectivity and a UVO infotainment system. Customers can also order leather upholstery, heated seats and a navigation system.
The entry-level EX is powered by a 2.0-liter GDI four-cylinder engine that develops 173 bhp (129 kW) and 154 lb-ft (209 Nm) of torque. Moving up the SX variant rewards owners with a turbocharged 1.6-liter GDI four-cylinder engine that produces 201 bhp (150 kW) and 195 lb-ft (264 Nm) of torque.
The Kia Forte five-door will go on sale in the third quarter of 2013 and pricing will be announced closer to launch.
