Renault has announced the Scenic XMOD which is scheduled to debut in March at the Geneva Motor Show.

The XMOD is based on the outgoing Scenic and comes with new alloys, sill guards, bumpers, roof bars and an increased ride height to give it a more crossover look. This is still a FWD car but benefits from a new Grip Xtend traction control system which can be controlled with a rotary knob located on the center console.

The system offers three modes: Road, Loose Ground and Expert. The first one is the standard setting which works like a regular traction control system. With Loose Ground mode activated, it can control engine torque and will optimize braking control on low-grip surfaces. As for Expert mode, the braking is done by the system while the driver controls the engine torque.

While the old Scenic had a boot capacity of 522 liters, the XMOD model offers 555 liters. The seats are independent and can be folded or removed. The interior cabin boasts a TFT digital display and a multi-directional joystick for controlling the multimedia system.
