Opel has received so far more than 20,000 orders for the new Adam city car.
Order books opened in October last year and most of them were made before the car's mid-January launch on the market. The Adam is a very important car for General Motors which expects to have had an operating loss in its European business of 1.5 billion USD, after losing 747M USD in 2011. By the middle of the decade, GM wants to break even.
Competing against the MINI and Fiat 500, the 2013 Opel Adam is available with 61,000 exterior and 82,000 interior design combinations. It is sold with a 70 HP 1.2-liter and a 1.4-liter engine producing 87 HP and 100 HP. In the future it will be offered with a new-gen turbocharged engine connected to a new 6-speed manual gearbox.
