The Tesla Model S Performance was able to outrun the Dodge Viper SRT10 in a drag race.
In October last year we saw a Tesla Model S beating a BMW M5 (F10) at Gingerman Raceway in western Michigan. Now, the Performance variant (85 kWh) of the Model S bested a Dodge Viper SRT10 last weekend at Palm Beach International Raceway.
DragTimes says the electric car finished the race in 12.731 seconds at 110.84 mph (178.38 km/h), performing the 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) run in only 3.9 seconds. The Tesla Model S now holds the world record for the fastest production EV in the ¼ mile, as confirmed by the National Electric Drag Racing Association (NEDRA).
