How it's made: 2013 SRT Viper [video]

The New York Times has released a fast-pace video showing the 2013 SRT Viper's production process.

About two weeks ago SRT delivered the first Viper to Scott Thomas who paid 300,000 USD and received his car during a special ceremony at the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit. Now we get to see how the new Viper is manufactured, with the video showing various stages of the production, from the engine inspection & assembly to a dyno test.

To reiterate, the 2013 SRT Viper makes use of a V10 8.4-liter engine producing 640 hp (477 kW) and 814 Nm (600 lb-ft) of torque. It's linked to a 6-speed manual gearbox sending power to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential. It does the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in the "low 3-second range" and can reach a top speed of 206 mph (331 km/h).

Prices start from 97,395 USD for the regular model while the GTS variant begins at 120,395 USD.
