Porsche is bringing to this year's Detroit Auto Show the Cayenne Turbo S and the new Cayman.
The high-performance SUV borrows the V8 4.8-liter engine of the Turbo version but with an increased turbocharger pressure, remapped electronics and more free flowing inlet manifold. Thanks to these changes, the power unit now churns an additional 50 hp (37 kW) for a total output of 550 hp (410 kW). Torque has also been increased by 37 lb-ft (50 Nm) to 553 lb-ft (749 Nm).
As for the base 2014 Cayman, this gets a flat six 2.7-liter engine with 275 HP (202 kW) which enables the coupe to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 5.4 seconds en route to a top speed of 165 mph (266 km/h). The hotter Cayman S makes use of a flat six 3.4-liter with 325 HP (239 kW). The additional power slashes the 0-62 mph time to 4.7 seconds and increases top speed to 176 mph (283 km/h).
The Cayenne Turbo S starts from 146,000 USD (without 975 USD destination charge). The Cayman begins at 52,600 USD, followed by the Cayman S at 63,800 USD.
