Mercedes-Benz has officially revealed the 2014 E-Class Coupe and Cabriolet facelift.
About three weeks ago Mercedes unveiled the sedan and estate versions of the facelifted E-Class and now they are showing the coupe and cabriolet variants. Both models have received the one-piece headlight assembly with LED daytime running lights and a larger front grille. The front bumper has more pronounced air intakes, while at the back the LED taillights have been slightly revised.
The engine lineup is borrowed from the sedan and estate versions, with all of them being carried over from the pre-facelift model but with several tweaks to improve fuel efficiency and lower CO2 emissions. Both models are offered with the familiar turbo 2.0-liter in the E200 where it produces 181 hp (135 kW) or 208 hp (155 kW) in the E250.
The E200 CDI gets a 2.1-liter, 4-cylinder turbodiesel with 134 hp (100 kW), followed by the E220 CDI with 168 hp (125 kW), while the E250 CDI has the same engine but with 201 hp (150 kW). There's also the E350 with its V6 3.5-liter engine producing 302 hp (225 kW) and the more powerful E550 with a 4.6-liter, bi-turbo V8 engine generating 402 hp (300 kW).
Gearbox choices include a 6-speed manual and a revised seven-speed automatic, with both of them being offered together with brake energy recuperation and stop/start systems as standard.
