A Chevrolet Silverado HD and a Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI compete in a tug of war.

A Chevrolet Silverado HD and a Volkswagen Touareg V10 TDI compete in a tug of war.

The Duramax V8 in the Silverado is good for 365 hp (272 kW) and 660 lb-ft (894 Nm) of torque, while the V10 TDI inside the Touareg has 310 hp (231 kW) and 553 lb-ft (748 Nm). It seems numbers aren’t everything as it's more important how the torque is transferred to the ground.

Although being considerably less powerful, the clip shows the German SUV was able pull the Chevy immediately. This might not come as a surprise since the Touareg V10 TDI is powerful enough to tow a Boeing 747.
