BMW has officially revealed the 2014 Z4 before its spring market launch.

The most important change is the addition of a new entry-level variant that will be offered in Europe and other regions of the world, excluding United States. The sDrive18i comes with a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 154 hp (115 kW) and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque. As standard, the engine is connected to a 6-speed manual but for more money it can be linked to an optional 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Fitted with this engine, the 2014 Z4 does the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run in 7.9 seconds with the manual or 8.1 seconds with the automatic, en route to a top speed of 137 mph (221 km/h). The sDrive18i is able to return 34.6 mpg US (41.5 mpg UK or 6.8 liters / 100 km) in the combined cycle.

In the United States the Z4 will be available with the same 240 hp (179 kW) 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter in the sDrive28i and the 6-cylinder, 3.0-liter engine producing 300 hp (224 kW) in the sDrive35i and 335 hp (250 kW) in the sDrive35is.

In terms of styling, the LED headlights have been revised, along with new designs for the 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels. BMW has also redesigned the tapered surround of the side indicators.
