The Praga R1 is a track-only vehicle fitted with a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter Renaultsport-sourced engine.
Czech racing firm Praga Cars has released details and images of their Praga R1 track-only vehicle.
Fitted with a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter Renaultsport-sourced engine, the power unit produces 210 hp (157 kW) at 7,500 rpm. It might not sound impressive but with a curb weight of only 590 kg (1,300 lbs); the vehicle has a power to weight ratio of 356 hp / ton. Power is sent to rear wheels via a 6-speed Hewland JFR sequential gearbox with pneumatic control and a self-locking differential.
The car is 4170mm long, 1800mm wide and only 995mm tall. It has a carbon fiber monocoque with built-in crumple zones and comes with race-specific safety equipment like a safety fuel tank, fire extinguishing system and 6-point seatbelts. Other components include Koni dampers, AP Racing clutch and Motec electronic engine management.
All units will be manually built in Czech Republic and will carry a starting price of 98,000 EUR.
