Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG confirmed for September 2013 debut in Frankfurt

The Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG will be unveiled in September next year at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

Previous spy photos have shown an aggressive front fascia, slightly modified rear bumper with a dual exhaust system and aerodynamic side skirts, along with five-spoke alloys, high-performance brakes and a trunk-mounted spoiler.

Under the hood it will most likely get a turbocharged, 4-cylinder 2.0-liter engine with 335 HP (246 kW) and more than 295 lb-ft (400 Nm) of torque. This is the same engine found in the A45 AMG and will probably be linked to a dual-clutch, 7-speed gearbox and an AWD system. The CLA 45 AMG will do the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in about 5 seconds and reach a limited top speed of approximately 155 mph (250 km/h).

The regular Mercedes-Benz CLA will be officially revealed in January at 2013 NAIAS in Detroit.
