Volvo has announced plans to stage the global auto show debut of the S60 Polestar concept in Los Angeles.
Originally introduced in June, the super Swede features a conservative body kit, a sport-tuned suspension and 19-inch Polestar alloy wheels. There's also larger anti-roll bars, Öhlins shock absorbers and high-performance brakes.
Power is provided by a six-cylinder engine that has been equipped with a Garret 3171 turbocharger, a new cylinder head, modified combustion chambers, an upgraded air intake and a Ferrita stainless steel exhaust system. Thanks to these modifications, the engine develops 508 bhp (379 kW) and 575 Nm (424 lb-ft) of torque. This enables the sedan to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and hit a top speed in excess of 300 km/h (186 mph).
Volvo was coy about the car's production chances, but previous reports have indicated the company is considering it.
