Honda has confirmed that the company is working on a next-gen Jazz-based Nissan Juke rival.

The next generation of the supermini will be launched in 2014 and will encompass an SUV and a sedan as Honda is trying to make the Jazz a global car. The Japanese brand is describing the Juke rival as a “younger brother to the new CR-V.”

In an interview given to Autocar, company’s CEO Takanobu Ito said that Honda will not launch a Toyota GT-86 competitor, but will address this market niche in 2015 when the Civic Type-R will be out. He also mentioned that the firm will not sell the Brio outside South East Asia and India, while a “low cost brand” in Europe is not being considered. They do want to concentrate on “increasing the attractiveness” of the Civic.
