BMW 1-Series-based G1 V8 Hurricane RS hits 314 km/h [video]

Test drive editor Christian Gebhardt from took the G-Power G1 V8 Hurriance RS for a test drive and hit 314 km/h (195 mph).

This is described as being the fastest BMW 1-Series in the world thanks to its V8 4.0-liter supercharged engine conversion that pumps out 600 HP (441 kW) and 428 lb-ft (580 Nm) of torque. Connected to a dual-clutch gearbox, it can perform the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint in 4.4 seconds, en route to a top speed of 205 mph (330 km/h). The reason why Christian wasn't able to hit maximum speed was because he drove a prototype with a top speed limiter in the ECU.

Aside from the engine transplant, this heavily modified 1-Series features 20-inch alloy wheels, stainless sports exhaust system, coilover suspension, carbon fiber hood and trunk, along with carbon ceramic brakes.

Full details are available in the attached press release.
