The teaser campaign for the 2014 Silverado is ramping up as Chevrolet has announced the model will be unveiled on December 13th, ahead of its public debut at the North American International Auto Show.

To help promote the event, Chevrolet released the first undisguised teaser image of the production model. There isn't much to see, but the picture reveals the truck will feature a massive chrome grille and projector beam headlights.

As we have previously reported, the Silverado could be offered with a new small-block V8 engine that incorporates lightweight construction and direct injection.

Chevrolet could also offer a range-topping High Country variant to battle the Ford F-150 King Ranch and Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn. It will reportedly feature unique leather upholstery and additional standard equipment such as GPS navigation and heated / cooled seats.
