Stefan Jacoby retires from Volvo, will be replaced by Håkan Samuelsson

Following last month’s mild stroke, Stefan Jacoby will retire from Volvo and he will be replaced as President and CEO by Håkan Samuelsson who up until now was a board member. Jacoby will leave the Volvo Car Group “after an amicable agreement with the Board of Directors”.

Between 2005 and 2009, Håkan Samuelsson was chairman and CEO of MAN SE and in 2010 he became an independent member of Volvo’s Board of Directors. Li Shufu who is the majority stakeholder and Chairman of the Board at the Volvo Car Group declared that he sees “major opportunities for Volvo Cars to improve profitability, and accelerate our growth plan in China specifically.
