Mercedes has released a new promotional video of the SLS AMG Electric Drive being put through the paces at the Ascari race track in Malaga, Spain.

Dressed in an exclusive blue hue, called AMG electricbeam magno, the electric supercar whirls around the track while barely making a sound.

The SLS AMG Electric Drive has four electric motors that produce a combined output of 740 HP (552 kW) and 1000 Nm (738 lb-ft) of torque. This enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, hit a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph) and travel 250 km (155 miles) on a single charge. When the car's lithium-ion battery is depleted, it can be recharged in approximately three hours with a rapid charger or 20 hours with a conventional outlet.

The Mercedes SLS AMG Electric Drive will go on sale next year and German pricing starts at €416,500 (including 19% VAT).
