After filing for insolvency in July, Artega has quietly ended production.

The company's website simply states "On September 30, 2012, production of the Artega GT sports car was discontinued. We would like to thank you for your support and the understanding you have expressed to our company."

While it would be easy to assume the company died a simple death, its assets were actually bought by Paragon AG which has no plans to resume sports car production. Paragon will continue to service and offer replacement parts for Artega models, but they bought the company for its buildings and engineering talent which will now be put to work at their Electromobility and Body-Kinematics divisions.

As if killing Artega wasn't bad enough, Paragon marginalized their new employees by saying "As a result of acquiring all the assets of Artega Automobil GmbH & Co. KG on October 1, 2012, paragon gained additional staff and, above all, extra space."
