Audi has officially unveiled the 2013 S3 at the Paris Motor Show.
Looking rather conservative, the model is distinguished by modified bumpers, faux-aluminum mirrors and a four-tailpipe exhaust system. There's also a bright-finish grille, xenon plus headlights and 18-inch alloy wheels.
The cabin features high quality materials and a pleasing design. Notable highlights include a flat-bottomed steering wheel, a unique instrument cluster and sport seats which are available in three different upholstery combinations. The interior also has matte aluminum trim, alloy pedals and a cargo capacity of up to 1,100 liters (38.85 cu ft).
Motivation is provided by a new 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder petrol engine that has direct injection, variable valve timing and an integrated exhaust manifold. Thanks to its advanced design, the engine produces 300 HP (221 kW) and 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) of torque. Backed up by an S tronic transmission and quattro all-wheel drive, the 1,395 kg (3,075 lb) hatchback accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds (5.4 seconds with the six-speed manual) and has an electronically-limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
The Audi S3 will go on sale early next year and German pricing starts at €38,900.
