Scheduled to hit the UK market in January next year, the all-new Mazda6 will have a starting price of 19,595 pounds. For this money you will get the sedan version powered by a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with 143 bhp (106 kW) connected to a 6-speed manual transmission. The same engine can be had with an output of 163 bhp (121 kW) and a peak torque of 155 lb-ft (210 Nm). Regardless of the engine variant, both of them can be linked also to a 6-speed automatic gearbox. The Tourer Sport is available up to £28,045 for the 2.2-litre 175ps with Auto Nav.
There’s also a 2.2-liter diesel engine available with either 148 bhp (110 kW) or 173 bhp (129 kW), available with the same gearbox options. This power unit has a maximum torque of 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) achieved at 2,000 rpm.
Thanks to the company’s recently developed i-ELOOP stop/start and brake energy recuperation system, the most frugal version of the diesel-powered Mazda6 promises to return 68.9 mpg UK (57.3 mpg US or 4.1 liters / 100 km) and have CO2 emissions of only 108 g/km.
