The Ford F-series celebrates its 60th anniversary this year with an appropriately, yet uninspired, named limited edition: the 2008 F-150 and SuperDuty 60th Anniversary Edition. The F-series can trace its roots back to the 1948 F-1 and has sold over 33 million units since then. The Ford F-series has been topping the American truck segment for the last 30 years.

The special editons will become available this winter and can be recognised by their two-tone paint scheme of Dark Shadow Gray over Ebony or vice versa. Additionally, besides the mandatory badging, Ford has chromed the pick-ups with their XLT Chrome package consisting of a chrome grille, running bars and exhaust tips, the Super Duty also has chrome wheels.

The production run will end at 7,500 F-150's and 2,500 Super Duty models and each truck will be individually numbered on the center console. Ford has designed a new and unique gauge cluster appliqué graphic for its special edition and the interior of the F150 is equipped with FX4 sport cloth seats in Dark and Medium Flint while the Super Duty comes with XLT sport cloth seats in Charcoal/Stone.

There are a few options available in regards to the F-150 model, such as 4x2 or 4x4, SuperCab or SuperCrew with either a short or long cargo box, a 5.4 liter of 4.8 liter V8 but is only available with an automatic transmission.

The Super Duty is available in 4x2 or 4x4, SuperCab or SuperCrew with either a short or long cargo box with an optional Off-Road package, with a choice of a 5.4 liter Triton V8, 6.8 liter Triton V10 or 6.4 liter PowerStroke Turbo Diesel.
