Pagani has always intended to sell the Huayra in the United States, but it's been a long and difficult journey. Thankfully, the wait is almost over as Horacio Pagani has confirmed the model will arrive in America by June of 2013.

As we have previously reported, Pagani's request for an airbag exemption was rejected last summer. This forced the company to spend an additional €4 ($5.1) million to install "smart" airbags that satisfy U.S. regulations.

Only 15 units are destined for America and they will feature an AMG-sourced 6.0-liter biturbo V12 engine that produces730 PS (537 kW / 720 hp) and 1,000 Nm (737 Nm) of torque. It enables the model to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and hit top speed of 370 km/h (230 mph).
