Alfa Romeo has announced plans to introduce the MiTo SBK special edition at the Paris Motor Show.

Designed to celebrate the company's involvement in the Superbike World Championship, the model is based on the Quadrifoglio Verde and features a two-tone exterior with 18-inch alloy wheels. There's also Brembo brakes and an Alfa Active Suspension with adjustable shock absorbers.

Interior changes are limited, but the car comes nicely equipped with Sabelt seats, Alcantara upholstery and an individually-numbered plaque. The model also has aluminum pedals, dual-zone climate control and the Blue&Me connectivity system.

Power is provided by a turbocharged 1.4 MultiAir engine that produces 170 PS (125 kW / 168 hp). It enables the car to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in "just over 7 seconds," while averaging 4.8 L/100 km (49 mpg US / 58.8 mpg UK).

Production will be limited to 200 units, but there's no word on pricing.

Alfa Romeo will also offer a MiTo SBK Special Series which has a sporty rear bumper, a chrome-plated spoiler and titanium mirror housings. Other highlights include SBK badging and 16-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, there's a "Carbon look" dashboard and an SBK logo on the seats.

The package can be ordered on all MiTos except models equipped with the 1.4-liter engine.
